FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT DO I BRING/WEAR TO CLASS?

Wear something comfy that makes you feel great! Just remember that you might end up sweating.
For the ladies, bring dance heels if you’d like (avoid stilettos) or for ladies and gents, wear comfortable shoes, preferably ones with a leather or hard sole for easy movement. Running shoes or trainers are NOT the best for smooth movement on the floor as they are designed to give you grip. Don’t forget your water bottle to stay hydrated, and a positive attitude ready to learn and have fun!

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Salsa Social is a partner-rotation class focused on salsa on-1 technique, pattern vocabulary, musicality, and connection. Each week builds on the last. Expect a fun, energetic environment where you'll be challenged in the right way — and you'll always leave knowing something new.

DO I NEED TO BRING A PARTNER?

Nope! All our classes are open to solo registrations. We rotate partners throughout, so you'll get a well-rounded experience regardless of who you come with.

WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT TO ONE OF THE CLASSES?

If you know you won't be attending one of the 4 weeks of the session, we offer a make-up class in a future session, as long as there is availability in the chosen class and we receive a 24 hour notice. Email suzevernonsalsa@gmail.com to let us know you'll be missing class.

WHAT LEVEL SHOULD I ENROL IN?

This class is for advanced beginners — dancers who have basic salsa on-1 experience. If you've taken at least one beginner salsa session (with us or another studio in the Okanagan), you're ready. If you're not sure, send us an email at suzevernonsalsa@gmail.com before registering and we'll help you figure out the right fit.

SALSA SOCIAL

Level - Advanced Beginner

You've got the basics — now let's make them feel good.
Salsa Social is built for dancers who know their on-1 foundation and are ready to go deeper.

Over four weeks, we'll explore more dynamic patterns, sharper styling, and the kind of partner connection that makes salsa actually feel like a conversation.

Whether you're coming solo or with someone, you'll leave each class with new moves and more confidence to use them.

Ready to join? If you've completed a beginner salsa or partnerwork class — with us or anywhere else in the Okanagan — you're at the right level. No partner required to register.
